What should I wear when I come to the Spa to receive a massage?

It is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to get in and out of and jewelry that is easy to remove.  However, if you have jewelry that you never take off, or prefer not to remove, then the therapist will be happy to work around it.

Do I need to get completely undressed for a massage?

It is preferable that you get completely undressed so that the massage is conducted in a smooth and flowing manner and knots are more easily accessed.  However, if you are more comfortable leaving some clothing on, the therapist will work around those areas.  Your comfort level and ability to relax is most important!

How much draping will be provided?

The massage table has adjustable heating and will always have both a sheet and blanket for your comfort and warmth. It is relaxing and warm in the winter and just the right level of cool in the summer. You will be completely draped at all times during the massage except for the part of the body the therapist is working on at the time. After finishing each section, the sheet and blanket will be replaced appropriately. You will never feel exposed, and your sense of privacy will be respected at all times.

Can I ask the therapist to skip certain parts of my body during a massage and concentrate on others?

Of course! Let the therapist know what you prefer, and she will customize the massage for you.

I like deep tissue work in a massage, but my friend likes a more soothing, gentle massage.  Can we both get the massage pressure that we want?

Yes! Each massage is customized to the individual client’s needs and preferences. The therapist can provide everything from deep tissue body work for chronic or acute pain to moderate or light pressure techniques for a more soothing, stress-relieving massage.

Are there showers available at the Grapevine Spa?

There are no shower facilities available at the Spa. However, heated, damp towels are used on the back, neck and face during each massage and are also offered at the end of each massage or body treatment for the client’s use and enjoyment in removing excess oil.

Can I just drop in at the Spa if I need a massage or spa service appointment right away?

Please call first!  All services at the Grapevine Spa are by appointment only.

May I purchase a gift certificate for a massage or spa service?

Yes!  You may purchase a gift certificate online from this web site, and a gift certificate will be mailed to you or to the gift recipient, or you can pick it up yourself at the Grapevine Spa.  You may also order a gift certificate by phone at 405-720-7960 or purchase one in person at the Grapevine Spa. (Check the “Location” link for an address and directions to the Spa.)

Are massages covered by insurance if I am suffering from chronic pain?

You will need to first check with your own insurance company; however, most major insurance companies will reimburse expenses paid out for massage therapy if you have your doctor sign a prescription specifying your need for therapeutic massage for a specific condition for a stated period of time.

Once you have your prescription, schedule your massage and pay for the massage upon receiving it. Your therapist will give you a receipt with all of the appropriate information for your insurance company. When you are finished with your series of massage sessions, send in the receipts to your insurance company, and they will reimburse you directly.

How do I make an appointment for a massage or spa service?

For massages, body treatments or spa packages, call Sandra Dickson of Hands on Therapy at 405-720-7960. She will be happy to schedule an appointment for you. For spa packages, Sandra will need to consult with the other staff at the Grapevine Spa to select appropriate appointment times.
